NEW YORK – Following President Joe Biden’s decision to end his re-election campaign, the national racial equity organization Race Forward released the following statement:

“President Joe Biden’s sacrifice and service to this nation is without dispute. In so many ways, we are a better country because of his close to 50 years of elected service.

“President Biden was committed to advancing racial equity and a just multi-racial democracy. Understanding that the government has a central role to play in ensuring equity, he passed several executive orders promoting equity across the federal government. He has led a presidential administration that understands the power of a federal government not afraid  to lean into service  on behalf of underserved communities and working families.

“Americans will  be wise to organize in support of a successor who continues Biden’s legacy and commitment to racial equity, while imagining further innovations that move our nation forward.”
