Maya J. Boddie

Media Relations Manager
Maya brings to Race Forward experience in journalism, media relations, and issue advocacy. She has written and reported for Blavity, served as communications lead for the largest food pantry in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area, and most recently was a part of the communications team at Advancement Project National Office. There, she supported media strategy for community partners who organized around issues of immigrant rights, voting rights, the school-to-prison-pipeline, and mass incarceration. Maya lives by the words of the great Fannie Lou Hamer; "Nobody's free until everybody's free.' A graduate on Hampton University and Virginia native, Maya resides in Alexandria, VA.
