Cultural change precedes social change. Narrative drives policy. This is why we must be as strategic and rigorous in building narrative power as we are in building all other forms of power. Narrative is the space in which energies are activated to preserve a destructive system or build a better world for us all.

Cultural Week of Action on Race and Democracy

November 10-14, 2025 | Nationwide

Race Forward is excited to announce the Cultural Week of Action on Race and Democracy, bringing people of all identities and backgrounds together to spark action toward creating a just, multiracial democracy through cultural and narrative organizing.

Narrative change is the process of intervening and altering the type, prevalence, and scale of narratives circulating within public discourse – until we overtake harmful dominant narratives and replace them with ones that are beneficial and rooted in our collective vision and values. Cultural change is the shift in societal beliefs, practices, and values that results.

Through this week of action, Race Forward aims to help grow our movement’s efforts at building narrative and cultural power for racial justice and solidarity.

Three Ways to Participate

Attend Just Narratives for Multiracial Solidarity
November 13-15, 2025 | St. Louis, MO

Join us for this year’s anchor event, where we'll strengthen and grow the narrative ecosystem needed to scale and build new narratives for solidarity and racial justice.

Add Your Local Event to the Cultural Week of Action Map (Coming Soon)

Artists and culture bearers are invited to include their events and projects aimed at advancing racial justice and solidarity through arts and culture in our interactive Cultural Week of Action (CWA) map. The map will provide you with a way to share your projects and activities that will inspire action that community members can take together to create a truly just, multiracial democracy—starting in their own neighborhoods.

Race Forward will elevate these events via our social media and marketing platforms to increase participation and engagement.

Events added to the map receive:

  • Increased visibility across Race Forward platforms
  • Access to toolkits and resources
