Position Summary
The Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE) Network Strategies Coordinator is a project manager, strategic thinker, and network coordinator excited to build relationships with others. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Network Strategies/Programs at GARE, the coordinator is responsible for organizing people, time, and resources across multiple projects to completion. Strong written and oral communication are required for with GARE members, jurisdictions, stakeholders, and across GARE. They are responsible for developing processes and procedures to monitor project progress and create status reports that note benchmarks and milestones. Comfortable with assigning tasks across the team, the Coordinator must be self-motivated and have strong leadership skills.
The Network Strategies Coordinator is highly organized, manages multiple projects and adapts with grace to changing circumstances and needs. They possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. This professional can also implement and manage logistical demands of a staff who work cross-functionally to respond to the needs of the GARE membership. The position supports a geographically dispersed team that works across 4 US time zones.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working under the direction of the GARE Deputy Director of Programs the Network Strategies
Coordinator will:
- Independently manage projects with complex administrative elements across the GARE program ensuring tasks such as scheduling, tracking, and assignment completion adhere strictly to predefined timelines;
- Support the development and maintenance of GARE processes, procedures, and timelines for coordination of efforts across the program and GARE’s integrated program support areas;
- Work closely with the GARE Communications Manager to help coordinate messaging across all GAREs programs;
- Assist in providing logistical support as needed to GARE members around accessing GAREs Innovation Communities, Programming, Events, Trainings or Online Community;
- Assist in onboarding new GARE members and contribute as directed to leading informational sessions for members;
- Facilitate dialogue between practitioners and support network groups or other practitioner-led spaces;
- Work closely with the Engagement Team to provide programmatic support onsite and online, for convenings and events, including the capture and organizing of GARE programming session data
- Support network groups or other practitioner-led spaces, and efforts to support member engagement across the GARE program area;
- Serve as a principle point of contact for GAREs Event speakers and performers providing oversite to contract needs, working closely with Race Forwards Fiscal and Legal Departments;
- Identify, set-up, and break-down required technologies for various meetings;
- Schedules appointments and supports coordination of meetings at all levels across GARE program areas;
- Work collaboratively with GARE’s Office of the Sr. Director Coordinator to ensure efficiencies across GARE programmatic and operational work units;
- Act as a liaison between external and internal staff, leaders and managers, consultants, network practitioners in coordinating meetings and relaying information;
- Other duties as identified by the GARE Deputy Director of Network Strategies.

- Exercises a high level of discretion and respects confidentiality in support of the work.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in racial equity work strongly preferred
- 3+ years of project management or information management experience
- Experience organizing or managing communications, outreach and contracts for programming, events, meeting or convenings
- Project Management Professional or Certified, is preferred
- Experience creating processes and structures for social impact networks, non-profits, or associations, is preferred

- Willingness and ability to travel overnight up to 15% of the time.
